I included this page with my web site because I wanted to make my "plug" for telecommuting. It does keep the family strong and it can benefit employers too. Read on for more information.

I am an enthusiastic supporter of Telecommuting. Why? Well there are many reasons why. The obvious reasons being that I am a single mother, working full time, going to school full time, and taking care of a household. I simply want to be with my children, and still be productive to society. I want to work AND be a good mother AND work at something I happen to love and have a great interest towards.

I am currently writing an article for for a magazine on telecommuting for which I will provide a link to here in the near future. I can't stress the importance of having the option of telecommuting for employees. Even being able to work from home just a few days a week would help the traditional family so much. In today's society it's common to hear how children spend too much time in daycare and not enough time with parents and the socialization problems associated with this trend. Telecommuting solves this problem. Speaking from my own experience it's wonderful to work, bring home the needed income, yet still be here in the morning when they go to school and be here when they get home from school.

Telecommuting helps everyone. It helps the employer because the employer receives a happy, productive employee. It helps the employee by allowing the employee a more flexible work schedule which has been proven to increase productivity. It helps society because parents are back with their children where most would agree they should be. Finally telecommuting would lessen commuting to the work site. Traffic congestion and the air pollution caused from this is an ever increasing problem.

Telecommuting is not for everyone and it's obviously not a viable alternative for certain industries. Providing a telecommuting option to employees where appropriate is well worth the effort on the employers part and everyone benefits.
